Stock tracked in Excel, invoices typed by hand, margins hard to know: many Algerian shops and SMEs are looking for software to bring sales, purchases and stock together. The local offering has grown a lot, from desktop software to full ERPs and online applications. Here is our selection of five solutions, with the strengths of each and who it suits.
Our selection criteria
- Fit for Algeria: invoices in dinars, VAT, stamp duty, legal mentions (NIF, NIS, RC, tax article).
- Coverage: stock, sales, purchases, payment collection, and for some, production or point of sale.
- Ease of use and availability of local support.
- Price transparency and the possibility to try before buying.
1. Sage 100 Gestion Commerciale
Sage is one of the long-standing references in business management software, and its Sage 100 range is widely used by Algerian companies, often alongside Sage accounting. The Gestion Commerciale (sales management) module covers purchases, sales and stock.
- Strengths: a proven solution, well known to accountants and firms, with many resellers and trainers in Algeria.
- Good to know: installed on a computer or server; prices are not public and are available from an authorised reseller; adapting it to Algerian rules is done through the reseller's configuration.
- Best for: structured companies that already use Sage accounting.
2. Facturelle
Facturelle is sales and inventory management software designed in Algeria, for Algerian small and medium-sized businesses. It runs entirely online: nothing to install, you access it from a browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
- Strengths: multi-warehouse stock with transfers and WAC or FIFO valuation, quotes, orders, invoices and credit notes in PDF, VAT and stamp duty, payment collection and reminders, revenue and margin dashboard, per-user roles and permissions, two-factor authentication and daily backups.
- Modules à la carte: point of sale, physical stock counts, pre-sales, purchasing or production can be added as needed, and prices are displayed publicly in dinars.
- Interface in French, Arabic and English, and a desktop edition is available for those who prefer to work offline.
- Good to know: a newer solution than the long-established players; the native mobile app is under development (the website already works on phones).
- Best for: shops, wholesalers, distributors and SMEs that want to get started quickly, without installation, at a clear price. 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
3. Odoo
Odoo is a modular ERP used worldwide, offered in Algeria by local integrators. It covers sales, purchases, inventory, accounting, CRM, human resources and many other applications.
- Strengths: very comprehensive and extensible, suited to companies that want everything in a single system.
- Good to know: the total cost includes the licence, integration and Algerian localisation (tax, accounting) carried out by an integrator; the project requires more time and budget.
- Best for: growing SMEs and large companies ready to run an ERP project.
4. MEGA COMMERCIAL (Megasoft Office)
Megasoft Office is an Algerian software vendor operating since 1990. Its MEGA COMMERCIAL software manages customers and suppliers, invoicing, deliveries, stock, payments, receivables and payables, as well as tax returns.
